Will Baker, M.S., CPHIMS, is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of morbakConsulting, bringing 15 years of experience in the field of health care information technology. His success is derived from his ability to understand the stated and unstated needs of his clients and translate those needs to achieve the client’s strategic and operational goals. Will’s skills in leading large complex transformation projects has resulted in an exemplary level of client satisfaction. Will has worked with some of the largest non-profit, for profit, and academic medical institutions in the US.
Mr. Baker’s Background
Prior to founding morbakConsulting, Will served as the Vice President of Client Engagement for Phynd Technologies, where he was accountable for the success of the client portfolio. His areas of responsibility included all facets of day-to-day operations as well as business development.
At The Advisory Board, Will served as Senior Manager of Operations / Strategy where he was responsible for enterprise level program management of clinical and revenue cycle suite of services. He successfully managed a multi-year program that implemented a new EHR and revenue cycle product for 3500 providers across multiple geography’s. He has worked extensively with physician advisory groups on ambulatory strategies and clinical content. Will has extensive experience working with federal agencies and state Regional Extension Centers (RECs) assisting clients in their strategy to receive state and federal funding to assist with HIT programs. During his tenure at The Advisory Board, Will was invited to participate in the Fellowship Program, which identified and mentored future company leaders.
Prior to joining The Advisory Board, Will served as the Director of Program Management for Oncology Rehab Partners in Northborough, Mass. He gained a wealth of knowledge in this role where he oversaw a team of program managers and data specialists in the implementation and ongoing program management of a multidisciplinary oncology rehabilitation service line training program. Also, while residing in the Boston area, Will worked with Arcadia Solutions managing the state funded IOO program and multiple athenaOne and eCW program implementations. At Steward Healthcare, he was responsible for the athenaClinicals implementation for 1500 providers, managing a $30M program budget, across Stewards 6 IPA’s.
Will earned a Master of Science degree in health informatics from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., and a Bachelor of Science in information systems from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Ariz. He has been formally trained in Six Sigma project methodology. Will is a member of the board of Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, Health Information Technology and is a certified professional by Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.
